STUDENT SPOLIGHT

Mark Adams - Artist?

Student Spotlight

This week's student spolight, junior Mark Adams (seen above brooding under the football field bleachers), may surprise some of you.

As we all know, Mark is the brilliant leader of our fearless Wanakawa Mathletes, the state-bound team of student geniuses that make the rest of us look like idiots in Algebra class. But there's more to Mr. Adams than just coefficients and variables. Mark loves to sketch, draw, and paint - and he's pretty darn good at that too.

"I get it, everyone thinks I'm a nerd," says Mark. But in this journalist's mind, there's nothing nerdy about being amazing at calculus and art. It just means you have both sides of your brain working overtime, which is pretty cool, actually.

An example of Mark's work etitled, Resolve.

When asked what he'll do after high school, Mark says, "I dunno, college I guess. Maybe not." It looks like he'll have a lot of options no matter what he chooses to pursue. Good luck at state to Mark and his Mathletes!
